As Schrödinger continued to grow as a global scientific software company, it became harder for employees to naturally build the relationships that support learning, growth, and long-term engagement.
In January 2022, Schrödinger launched Resonance, a company-wide RandomCoffee networking program designed to foster new professional connections across teams and geographies.
With SCIM integration and automatic member provisioning, the program was made available to the entire organization:
Building on this foundation, Schrödinger expanded into structured mentoring programs in 2024. Participants are matched using custom rules (including skills complementarity, seniority, time zones, etc.) and paired for 6-month mentoring cycles, with a new campaign launched twice a year:
“I chose RandomCoffee to facilitate our mentor program matches because integrating automation and custom rules is far more effective than manual matching. I’ve especially appreciated the direct support from my Customer Success Manager throughout this experience.”
— Tony Lee, Mentoring Program Project Manager
Schrödinger has built a repeatable, scalable model that strengthens internal capability, accelerates learning, and reinforces its long-term investment in people.
