How Trimble addresses every people challenge with Randomcoffee

At Trimble, innovation happens at scale. With 13,000+ employees across countries, functions, and industries, and regular growth through acquisitions, one ongoing challenge is helping people truly understand the breadth of the organization and feel connected to it early on.

Beyond onboarding into a role or a team, Trimble wanted to give employees opportunities to meet colleagues they might never otherwise encounter, broaden their understanding of the company, and create bridges across functions, regions, and backgrounds. This was especially important for employees joining through acquisitions, where feeling part of the broader Trimble community quickly can make a meaningful difference.

To support these goals, Trimble introduced RandomCoffee as a flexible, global way to encourage connection across the organization.

Today, Trimble runs 17 RandomCoffee programs in parallel, including:

  • A Global Trimble Coffee Club open to all 12,700 employees, with monthly themes to spark conversation
  • Programs led by ERGs to support inclusion and community-building
  • Targeted initiatives to help integrate employees from acquired companies
  • In-person coffee programs at the office as teams return on site

Together, these initiatives have already created 10,000+ one-to-one connections across roles, regions, and levels of seniority.
