As a fully remote company with more than 500 employees distributed across teams and geographies, Finalsite wanted to ensure that people could still meet colleagues outside their day-to-day scope and build relationships organically across the company.
In October 2022, Finalsite introduced a monthly RandomCoffee program, open to the entire organization. The idea was deliberately simple: offer employees a recurring opportunity to meet someone new, have a short conversation, and see where it leads.
Over time, the consistency of this approach proved more important than any one interaction:
For employees, these conversations often filled a gap that remote work leaves unaddressed:
“As a fully remote company, it’s difficult to meet co-workers from outside your day-to-day work. RandomCoffee has given me the chance to stop, have a real conversation, and learn something new about someone I might not otherwise have met.”
— Max Eisl, Strategic Sales Leader
In some cases, the impact went further than connection alone:
“One RandomCoffee conversation led to advice and encouragement that ultimately pushed me to pursue another role internally — a role I’m now in and couldn’t be happier with.”
— Michael Shea, Client Success Manager
Today, RandomCoffee plays a quiet but meaningful role in Finalsite’s people strategy. By creating a ritual of connection, the company supports a more connected culture, stronger internal visibility, and career mobility, without relying on proximity or constant facilitation.
